1. RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2 The national prescriptions which will apply will be incorporated into the sailing instructions.

1.3 The articles for the Gold Cup will apply. The current version of the articles (and the class rules) can be found on www.folkboat.com.

1.4 Racing rule(s) will be changed as follows: The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.

1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence, except in the case of the articles for the Gold Cup, for which the German text will take precedence.

2. ADVERTISING

2.1. Boats shall be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority

3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

3.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Nordic Folkboat class, having a valid Nordic Folkboat Measurement Certificate according to class rule 1.70.

3.2 Every helmsman must be a member of the yacht club he represents, and of a National Folkboat Association under Nordic Folkboat International Association

3.3 The person in charge shall either have a valid driving license of the DSV, "Sport sailor license" or a valid official license prescribed or recommended for the sailing area, issued by the DSV by order of the government department for traffic, construction and home development. Members of other national federations shall have an adequate driving license of their national authority.

3.4 Each crew member shall be a member of a club affiliated to a national authority of the ISAF

3.5 Eligible boats may enter by completing the entry form on www.goldpokal2015.de and paying the entry fee online as described during the entry process.

3.6 Entry deadline is 1. June 2015. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the race committee, and will be subject to an extra fee (see item 3).

3.7 Unless excused by the organizing authority, all boats shall be registered at the race office before the first warning signal.

4.  FEES

4.1 Entry fee is Euro 280,00. Late entries will be subject to an extra fee of Euro 35,00.

4.2 The entry fee shall be paid not later than entry deadline. The indebtedness to pay the fee will not be dropped if the boat or the crew do not show up. Entry fees will only be refunded if the entry is cancelled intime or rejected. Entry fee shall be paid on the account of Spandauer Yacht-Club, Commerzbank, IBAN: DE71100800000897000200 BIC: DRESDEFF100. Please use ‘goldcup’ and the name of the helmsman.

5.  SCHEDULE

5.1 Registration   Saturday 07/11/2015 from 10 am until 6 pm
    Sunday 07/12/2015 from 10 am until 6 pm

5.3 Date of the races     Monday till Friday (13th - 17th july)  
       

5.4 Six races are planned.

5.5 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the 1st race of a Day is at 9:55.

5.6 Last possible time for warning signal is on Friday 17 July at 1:55 pm

6. MEASUREMENTS

Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate.

7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Sailing instructions will be available on www.goldpokal2015.de as from Monday, 6. July 2015 and at the racing office as from Saturday, 11. July 2015.

8. VENUE

The venue will be „Sportschule Yachthafen Mittelmole of Warnemünde“, and the races will take place on the Bay of Warnemünde.

8.1 Attachment 1 shows the location of the regatta harbor.

8.2 Attachment 2 shows the location of the racing areas.

9. THE COURSES

The courses to be sailed will be printed in full in the sailing instructions.

10. PENALTY SYSTEM

Rule 44.1 is changed so that the two-turns penalty is replaced by the one-turn penalty.

11. SCORING

11.1 The scoring system is as follows: Low-Point-System.

11.2 A total of 6 races are scheduled. 4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series.

11.3 (a) When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.

(b) When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score

12. BERTHING

Boats shall be kept in their assigned places while they are in the harbor.

13.  HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS

Participating boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee.

14.  DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS

Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around keelboats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the regatta, except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the RC.

15. RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

15.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

16. PRIZES

The Gold Cup trophy will be awarded to the winning boats yacht club in accordance with the articles of the Gold Cup. In addition, there will be prizes for the 10 highest ranked boats.

17. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

The responsibility for the decision of the person in charge to participate in a race or to continue with it is solely with him, to that extent he also takes the responsibility for his crew. The helmsman is responsible for the qualification and the correct nautical conduct of his crew as well as for the suitability and the transport-safe condition of the registered boat. In cases of Force Majeure or on grounds of administrative orders or for safety reasons the organizer is entitled to make changes in the realization of the event or to cancel the event. In these cases there does not exist any liability for compensation of the organizer to the participant. In case of a violation of obligations that do not constitute primary respectively material contractual duties (cardinal obligations), the liability of the organizer, no matter because of which cause in law, for material and property damages of all kinds and their consequences that arise to the participant during or in connection with the participation in the event Resulting from a conduct of the organizer, his representatives, servants or agents, is restricted to damages that were caused wilfully or grossly negligent. When a violation of cardinal obligations occurs, in cases of simple negligence the liability of the organizer is limited to foreseeable, typically occurring damages. To the extent that the liability for damages of the organizer is excluded or restricted, the participant also relieves the staff – employees and representatives, agents, servants, sponsors and individuals who provide or drive salvage, safety or rescue vessels or assist with their use - from the individual liability for damages, as well as also all other individuals who were instructed to act in connection with the realization of the event. The effective racing rules of the ISAF, the class rules as well as the regulations of the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions are to be complied with and are expressly recognized. The German law will apply.

18. RACE OFFICE

Race office will be opened as follows:

  • Saturday, 11 July from 12 through 6 (pm)
  • Sunday, 12 July from 10 through 6 (pm)
  • Each Day before and after the races

19. INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of Euro 3 Million per incident or the equivalent..

20. Photos and Videos

Each competitor agress that photos, videos and audio-recordings of himself, his crew or
accompaning maybe published in print- or online-media.

21. EVENTS

  • Saturday, 11. July: cranage from 2 pm
  • Sunday, 12 July:  Welcome ceremony with buffet (AGO Event)
  • Wednesday, 15 July: The night of "Deutsche Folkeboot Vereinigung"
  • Friday, 17 July: Price giving ceremony (after the races)
